Overview
Cetol Filter 7 Plus is a highly translucent, medium build, solvent borne woodstain with extra UV Protection for joinery. It provides long term weather protection due to its flexible, water-repellent coating film. It can be used as a two part system with a on bare wood and will provide 5 years of protection from weathering when used in conjunction.

Preparation
Always ensure the surface to be treated is clean, dry and free from any dust, algae, fungi or moss.
- Resinous deposits should be removed with a scraper.
- Degrease the surface with a lint free cloth and suitable solvent, allow to evaporate fully before applying Sikkens.
- For previously stained or worn wood use a fine sandpaper of 240 grit work in the direction of to abrade the surface the grain.
- Dust down entire surface.
- Fill any cracks, holes or chips, always use a filler designed for timber.
Application
Before applying stir the product thoroughly and test a small area to ensure colour and adhesion. Colours can vary dependant on surface to be treated.
- Do not apply when there is the risk of rain or when temperatures are below 5°C or above 30°C.
- Protect from frost and rain until dry.
- Always ensure product is fully mixed before and during application to ensure consistency in colour.
- Do not thin.
- can be used as a basestain for joinery items prior to coating with Cetol Filter 7 plus.
- For application use a good quality, long-haired, soft bristle brush.
- Apply along the grain in even strokes and avoid over brushing.
- Use the minimum number of brushstrokes necessary to produce an acceptable finish.
- Pay special attention to areas of exposed grain, tops and bottoms of doors and undersides of cills.
- Allow a minimum of 16 hours drying time.
- The second coat should be applied to all exposed surfaces, as soon as possible after the first coat has dried, but no sooner than 16 hours.
- Additional preparation may be required if over 3 months between coats.
