Hammerite Ultima Matt Metal Paint is a water-based finish that is specially formulated to use direct to rust or direct to metal without the need for a primer thanks to its strong adhesive properties. A revolutionary metal paint that has Colour Lock technology which protects the pigments from the natural discolouration process caused by the sun, ensuring longer gloss retention and keeping colours bright for longer. Hammerite Ultima has excellent durability and advanced anti-corrosion protection for up to 12 years. Available in three colours Black, White and Dark Grey it offers a matt sheen for a modern finish and is suitable for any metal from steel to galvanised steel, zinc, and brass.

Preparation

Always ensure the surface to be treated is clean, dry and free from any dust, dirt, grease, flaking paint or rust.

• Sand the surface with coarse sandpaper or wire brush to remove any loose rust particles, flaking paint or factory treatments.
• Use a household degreaser to remove any dirt, dust or grease.
• Lightly abrade for maximum adhesion.

Application

Before application test Hammerite Ultima Matt Metal Paint onto the painted surfaces and leave for 1 hour. If there is no reaction continue to apply, if there is a reaction with the previous paint all paint must be removed before applying Hammerite Ultima paint.

• Ensure temperature is between 10˚C and 30˚C when applying paint.
• Stir before application.
• To ensure full weather protection against rust, evenly apply a minimum of 2 layers of Hammerite Ultima with a spreading rate of 7.5sqm per litre.
• Ensure to pay special attention to edges and corners.
• Recoat time 4 hours.
